High RiskButylphenyl Methylpropional, also known as Lilial or BMHCA, is a fragrance ingredient classified in the EU as toxic to reproduction. The EU Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety concluded that aggregate cosmetic exposure at the proposed uses could not be considered safe and also identified skin-sensitisation concerns. MamaSkin classifies this ingredient as high risk and recommends avoiding it during pregnancy.
